RULES

  1. BWF Regulations to be followed.
  2. Badminton England affiliated players only.
  3. Payment before the 1st session is required, otherwise your place will be offered to someone who can pay immediately.
  4. A team has two players. Teams may consist of either or both sexes, and must nominate the strongest player as no. 1.
  5. Each team may have a maximum of 1 player who has played in the county 1st team in the 2012/2013 season.
  6. All players are expected to be warmed up and ready to play by 7pm, the only knocking up will be 3 mins at the start of each game, timed by the scoreboard operator.
  7. Each match will consist of three games, this will be two singles and one doubles. The singles will be player nominated 1 v player nominated 1, and player nominated 2 v player nominated 2.
  8. Each game in the match will be one game to 21, no setting, change at 11.
  9. There will be a 1 minute break at the change of ends, timed by the scoreboard operator.
  10. Coaching is allowed, and encouraged during the 1 minute break.
  11. The losing player will operate the scoreboard, and stopwatch for the next game on that court. The first game will be scored by players nominated by the organiser.
  12. Each instance of swearing during a game will be penalised by a one point deduction, enforced by the scoreboard operator.
  13. Each instance of racket abuse during a game will be penalised by a one point deduction, enforced by the scoreboard operator.
  14. Players must provide their own feather shuttles. If players disagree on the make or model of shuttle being used, then Yonex AS40's must be used.
  15. Players must mark their shuttles with an identifying mark (a permanent marker will be available at the desk).
  16. Players must take turns supplying shuttles. After spinning for serve, then spin to see which player will supply first shuttle.
  17. If players disagree on whether to change a shuttle, the organiser will decide. Players must abide by that decision.
  18. Knocking up shuttles will be available from the desk.
  19. In case of holiday or illness, each player may use a substitute for 1 night only.
  20. If a player is injured, a permanent substitute for the rest of that team's matches may be appointed.
  21. Each night will be filmed with a camera covering the whole hall. By playing, you accept that some of the film may appear online (see 22).
  22. Any spectator may nominate a shot for 'shot of the night'. A note should be made of the player, the court, and the time. This will be video reviewed, and clips posted online for voting.
  23. The winning team will be the one that has the most overall points after all the matches have been played.
  24. All players are responsible for disposing of their own litter.
  25. The Organiser's decision is final. This is a trial league, ideas for improvements may be made, but changes will be at the organiser's discretion, and may not be immediate.
